Memorial Plaque 1914-18 (Walter Bosworth) good very fine £50-70

Walter Bosworth was born in Crewe and enlisted at Manchester. Serving in the 7th Battalion King’s Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment), he died of wounds on 20 September 1915, aged 29 years. The son of Frederick and Jane Bosworth of Crewe; he was buried in the Merville Communal Cemetery.

Sold with original commemorative scroll with associated slip, in card tube addressed to ‘Mr F. Bosworth, 70 Lovely Lane, Warrington’; a paper envelope and associated slip which accompanied the plaque; an official letter informing of the death of Private Bosworth; an official letter stating where he had been buried; an official letter with envelope stating that a photograph of the grave would be supplied; an official photograph of the grave showing a wooden cross, with envelope; one school group photograph; two army group photographs (one large), and two portrait photographs of the recipient - one in a metal frame bearing ‘The King’s Own’ badge.
