Crimea 1854-56, 2 clasps, Inkermann, Sebastopol (Serjt. 12th Bn. Rl. Arty.), officially impressed naming; Army L.S.& G.C., V.R., 3rd issue (193 Sergt., -A-Bde. R.A.), mounted for wear, good very fine (2) £280-320

Patrick Murphy was born in Co. Meath. A Labourer by occupation, he enlisted into the Royal Artillery on 3 May 1852, aged 20 years. He served in the Crimea, gaining the medal with two clasps and served in India, August 1865-March 1873. He attained the rank of Sergeant-Major on 14 March 1865. He was awarded the Long Service medal with a gratuity of £15 on 8 October 1873 and was discharged to a pension on the same day. Sold with some copied service papers and copied photograph.
