Prussia, Order of the Crown, 2nd type, 4th Class breast badge, gilt metal and enamel, obv. centre refixed; rev. centre missing; General Decoration of Merit, 2nd Class, silver, replacement ring suspension; Campaign Cross 1866, for ‘Main Armee’; War Medal 1870-71, 4 clasps, St. Privat, Beaumont, St. Quentin, Paris; Centenary Medal 1897, 30mm. dia. reduction; Long Service Bar, 3rd Class, blackened silver, ring suspension, mounted German style as worn, very fine and better (6) £180-220

A note with the lot states: ‘The recipient is most likely to have served in 1870-71 with the Combined Guards Cavalry Brigade’. The Guards Brigade passed through Beaumont but did not participate in the action. Sold with a copied article on the Guards involvement at Beaumont.
