The Tyne-Tees Regiment was a short-lived British Territorial Army regiment. It was formed in 1999 by the amalgamation of the 6th Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Volunteers), the 4th/5th Battalion Green Howards (Yorkshire Volunteers) and the 7th Battalion Light Infantry. With its H.Q. at Durham, it was formed of 5 companies: A and B (Green Howards), C (Durham Light Infantry), X and Z (Fusilier). On 4 July 2003 a composite company was despatched to Iraq and was the first Territorial Army infantry unit to be compulsorily mobilised since the Suex Crisis in 1956. The company was deployed at Basra Palace, Basra Airport and Shaibah Logistics Base. As part of further restructuring of the Territorial Army, the regiment was broken up in 2004 with its constituent companies going to their parent regiments.
