John Cummings, a native of Newcastle, enlisted in the Imperial Yeomanry in March 1901, aged 20 years. His military history sheet verifies his subsequent service with the 11th Company, 2nd Battalion, I.Y., in South Africa, March to November 1901, and his entitlement to the above described Medal and clasps.
