The Singapore Royal Artillery Volunteers were formed on 22 Ferbuary 1888. At the time of the Japanese invasion they consisted of three gun and one searchlight sections, with two guns and 25 men per gun section; a total of 129 men. They were part of the Fortress Singapore Division, Royal Artillery Brigade. Disbanded in 1942, they were reformed in 1945.
