In the 1890 Indian Army List, the services of a ‘Subadar Pertab Singh Rae’, 44th Regiment Gurkha Light Infantry, are listed as: Khasia and Jainta Hills expedition, 1862-63; Bhootan campaign, 1864-65-66 (Medal and clasp); Looshai expedition, 1871-72 (clasp); Naga expedition, 1879-80 (clasp); Burma campaign, 1886-87 (clasp) and Chin expedition, 1888-89.
