Rhodesia, Rhodesia, Bulawayo, 1897, a uniface oval silver medal, arms and supporters, 4th NOVr 1897 below, 31 x 25mm; together with a Kruger Halfcrown, the centre fashioned into a cross pattée. [2]. First very fine and rare, second fine; both with means of suspension (£30-40)

1st only illustrated. Bulawayo was founded by a group of British settlers led by Cecil Rhodes in 1893, but was a hostile environment until the British South Africa Company settled peace with local tribespeople in 1897 and it became a prosperous railway town
