Charles Beauquier (1833-1916), jurist, chartist, journalist, man of letters and député at Versailles for the département of Doubs from 1880 to 1914; b. Besançon, this fervent ‘régionaliste’ was one of the founders of the Société pour la Protection des Paysages et de l’Esthétique de la France [SPPF]. Further biographical details and a portrait photograph are sold with the lot.
