Trinidad, Shop tally (?), a George VI Halfpenny, 1936, obv. countermarked with a four-spoked wheel, rev. countermarked with small 4 (Lyall 509, this coin). Fine, holed £10-£20

This coin was found in Trinidad c. 1970 by a lady who said it had been used as a tally in a shop; the hole was presumably to allow it to be held on a spike.
