W. Crank attested for the Northumberland Fusiliers and served with them during the Second World War as part of the British Expeditionary Force. Captured and taken Prisoner of War, he was held in Stalag XX-B in Malbork, Poland. He was recalled for service in Korea and served in the Army Catering Corps, and saw later service in Cyprus.
