Kultateollisuus Ky was founded in Turku, Finland in 1899, making it one of the oldest jewellery manufacturers in Finland. They are particularly known for their jewellery designs from the 1960s and 1970s. Between 1954 and 1977, the company was known as Kkultateollisuus Viljanen ja Kumpp Ky, and employed the designer Jorma Laine, a Finnish jewellery designer, who trained at the art college Turun Piirustuskoulu (Turku Art School) and worked mainly in silver and bronze in an abstract style.
