Henry Robinson Wadmore was born in London on 1 April 1857, the son of the Reverend Henry Robinson Wadmore, and served as a Lieutenant with Natal Native Contingent during the Zulu War. Remaining in South Africa following the cessation of hostilities, he was later employed in the Customs Office at Cape Town, and in the Traffic Branch of the Railway Department. He died in London on 30 December 1904.
