Notwithstanding the date of the Balaklava clasp engraved on the edge of the medal, John Peck does not appear on either the medal roll for the Balaklava clasp, nor the latest reconstruction of the Roll of those men of the 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards who took part in the Charge of the Heavy Brigade, 25 October 1854.
