M.C. London Gazette 27 May 1919:
‘For gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on enemy positions near Kodish on 7 February 1919. Under heavy fire he attended to the wounded and placed them on sleighs. It was largely due to his fine conduct that the wounded were promptly evacuated and many lives saved.’
John Peter served during the Great War in North Russia from 12 October 1918.
