Horace Hnry Frederick Roser was born in 1920 and attested foe the Hampshire Regiment in November 1938. He served with them during the Second World War in North Africa, and was captured and taken Prisoner of War, being held at Stalag 18A at Wolfsberg. Repatriated following the cessation of hostilities, he transferred to the Royal Army Service Corps in January 1946, and saw further service with them in Malaya and Cyprus, being advanced Warrant Officer Class II, and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 17 October 1957. He was subsequently, for 18 years, Cadet Administrative Assistant of the Gosport Area, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Section, Army Cadet Force, and was awarded his Cadet Forces Medal in 1974 (London Gazette 5 November 1974). He died on 6 October 1980.
