William Tait Dunlop was born on 15 July 1908 and was joined the Royal Air Force as a R.A.F. Halton Apprentice, No.11 entry, in January 1925. Advanced Flight Sergeant, he was commissioned Pilot Officer on 12 June 1941, and was advanced Flight Lieutenant on 1 September 1945; Squadron Leader on 1 January 1952; and Wing Commander on 1 January 1957. He retired on 15 July 1960, and died on 3 June 1978.
