Matthew Boulton’s Medal for Trafalgar 1805, white metal, unnamed, pierced with rings for suspension, mounted on wooden board with ribbon buckle, the board inscribed ‘When George the Fourth was King Joshua Dade’s Medal. Given to F.W.M. by Mr. Secundus Glendining and Mr. Douglas Glending. Xmas Day 1896’, previously housed in a damaged gilt frame with old typed label to reverse attributing the medal to Thomas Wilkins on board H.M.S. L’Achille, this present, and now housed in a modern glazed frame, medal much corroded, poor fine £200-£240
No trace of either man being present at Trafalgar.
