Clement Walter Sherwood was born n Sheffield, Yorkshire, and attested for the Royal Fusiliers, serving with the 17th (Empire) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 16 November 1915. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Fusiliers on 22 November 1916, and was killed in action at Burlon Wood, Cambrai, on 28 November 1917. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, France.
