Ex Marx (340)
Alphonse-Eugène Lechevrel (1850-1924), Parisian medallist and gem engraver, first executed Hommage aux Graveurs in 1891. It was later paired with a portrait plaque of Roger Marx (1892), then issued as a plaque in 1898 to coincide with the publication of Marx’ book, Les Médailleurs Français. The Paris mint acquired the rights to it and issued award plaques bearing the design in 1899
