Frank Winter was the son of Mr and Mrs F. Winter of 3 Rotherview Villas, Poundfield, Crowborough, Sussex. He served during the Great War with 2/6th Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Winter died of wounds on the Western Front, 12 September 1916, and is buried in Laventie Military Cemetery, La Gorgue, Nord, France.
Fred Winter was the younger brother of the above, and served during the Great War with the 9th (Service) Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment. He was killed in action on the Western Front, 28 May 1918.
Private Winter is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
