Frank Humphries was born in St. Pancras, Middlesex. He served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade in the French theatre of war from 7 November 1914. Humphries was killed in action on the Western Front, 1 December 1914. On the latter date the Battalion were engaged in work on the communication and support trenches at Laventie, and were subject to sniper fire.
Private Humphries is buried Fauquissart Military Cemetery, Laventie, Pas de Calais, France.
