George Cowie (later no. 265441) was born in Stanley, Perthshire. He served during the Great War with the 1/6th (Perthshire) Battalion, Royal Highlanders (Territorial) on the Western Front. Private Cowie was killed in action, 28 May 1918, and is buried at Roclincourt Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
James Crombie was born in Gourock, Renfrewshire. He served during the Great War with the 9th (Service) Battalion, Royal Highlanders on the Western Front. Private Crombie was killed in action, 21 October 1918, and is buried in Taintignies Communal Cemetery, Belgium.
