An Early 17th Century Officer’s Sword, the 83 cm straight blade with single fuller and stamped ‘Clemens Bowcen?’ and ‘Me FECIT’ ‘Soligen’ on both sides also an armourer’s mark? an orb with a double cross, on both sides, ribbed wooden hand grip lacking any binding, ornate pierced iron hand guard incorporating grotesque masks, a bird and a hound’s head plus other lined decoration, bulbous knop with grotesque masks and line decoration and three point attachment, the blade pitted overall, the hand guard fractured on one small point £800-1200
