Memorial Plaque (Lawrence Parsons) nearly extremely fine £40-50

Lawrence Parsons was born in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, and attested there for the Worcestershire Regiment. He served with the 1st/7th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 31 March 1915, and was advanced Corporal. He died of wounds on 25 April 1917, most likely received during the attack on Gillemont Farm the day before, which cost the battalion 2 Officers and 12 other ranks killed, and 2 Officers and 90 other ranks wounded, and is buried in Villers-Faucon Cemetery, Somme, France. He is also commemorated on the Kidderminster War Memorial.

He is the only Lawrence/ Laurence Parsons listed on both the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Roll, and in
Soldiers Died in the Great War.
