John Cobban was born in Leith, Midlothian. He served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Highlanders in the French theatre of war from 12 October 1914. He transferred to the Military Mounted Police in October 1916. MIC notes ‘correct No 1572. No action to Star Roll unless returned.’

Sold with card box of issue for Second War campaign awards, addressed to ‘Mr. J. A. Cobban, 32 Preston Terrace, Linlithgow, West Lothian.’
