As far as can be ascertained, the token is believed to be of George Gilloe and reads: mm. pierced sexfoil, george [—] gilloe (rosette) of, his half peny, pierced sexfoil flanked either side by three lozenges, rev. mm. pierced cinquefoil, snayth (rosette) mercer (rosette) 1669, Mercers’ arms
