The King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Officer’s Green Cloth Helmet c. 1891-1901, the skull complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate being of crowned star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black velvet a coiled bugle horn with a rose within the coil both elements in silver, a silver scroll below ‘The King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry’, the plate not original to the helmet, buff leather sweatband and quilted silk lining both much perished, the rear peak soft and damage to the leather edging, little gilt remains to the spike, quadrant, chin chain etc. £300-400
