The Hampshire Regiment Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1881-1901, the skull complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black velvet a gilt Royal Tiger within a silver laurel wreath, a scroll below ‘The Hampshire Regiment’, the plate not original to the helmet, white leather sweatband and stamped label ‘Regulation Cork Helmet’, very little gilt remains to all fittings, together with a metal carrying tin this with stencilled partial details ‘T.W.??????/6th V.B.R.?.’, the retaining section of the metal hasp lacking (2) £300-400
