Memorial Plaque (David Mahood) lightly polished, very fine £70-90

David Mahood was born in Ireland and emigrated to Canada in 1907, and took up residence in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He attested for the 7th Battalion (British Columbia Regiment), Canadian Infantry, and served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force on the Western Front during the Great War. He was killed in action during the Second Battle of Ypres on 24 April 1915, in the action at Kerselaere, where Captain E. D. Bellew, also of the 7th Battalion, was awarded the Victoria Cross. He has no known grave, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
