Arthur Percy House, a native of Stratford, London, was born in 1882 and attested for the London Regiment at Stratford on 3 April 1916. He served with the 2/13th Battalion (Princess Louises’s Kensington Rifles) during the Great War, as part of 60th Division, in Salonika from 24 November 1916, and subsequently in Palestine from 2 July 1917. He served as a stretcher-bearer during his time in the Army, and was awarded the Military Medal for service in the Egyptian theatre. he was discharged on 26 September 1919
