Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, no clasp (F. F. Hills, Sto., H.M.S. Beagle) very fine
Hills became a submariner in the famous K boats (submarines with funnels), and is mentioned in ‘The K Boats’ by Don Everitt: “My dad’s name is F. F. Hills and he was a stoker first class. He joined K10 at Barrow in Furness in 1917. He hopes they never build any more like them for poor me to live in as they made more men sick than any other boat”.
