Allsop was commissioned from the Natal Mounted Rifles into Kitchener’s Fighting Scouts in 1901, in which year he was wounded in the fierce action at Tweefontein on 14 November. On that occasion, the 2nd Fighting Scouts acted as the rearguard; sold with copied medal and clasp roll verification.
