Arthur Bright is confirmed as having served in the Port Elizabeth Town Guard in the Boer War (T.N.A. WO 100/284 refers). He re-enlisted in the South African Expeditionary Force in August 1916 and was appointed a Driver in the South African Service Corps, in which capacity he was embarked for Dar-es-Salaam in the following month. Having then fallen ill with malaria, he was repatriated in March 1917 and then succumbed to T.B. in August 1918; sold with copied research.
