The aviators Dieudonné Costes (1892-1973) and Joseph le Brix (1899-1931) completed a world tour of 57,000km between October 1927 and April 1928 in the Breguét biplane Nungesser-Coli, fitted with a 600hp Hispano-Suiza engine. They were both awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross by a special act of the U.S. Congress on 2 May 1928
