Stack, 10 Amesbury Rd, Cardiff’ reading: ‘Regret to inform you of report received from North Africa that Capt J A Stack The Welch Regiment was wounded in action on 7th January 1943 ...’; a War Office letter, dated 23 January 1943 confirming the telegram details; newspaper cuttings re a Commando raid in Tunisia; Certificate certifying that Captain J. A. Stack served with 1 Commando throughout the Tunisian Campaign; copy of a letter sent to Mountbatten thanking the Commandos for their work in Tunisia; Certificate, dated Jan. 1946, named to Major J. A. Stack, Welch Regiment, signed by Louis Mountbatten, expressing his appreciation for his devotion to duty; Major Stack’s South East Asia Command Group of Headquarters Identity Card, bearing photo of recipient; Norwegian map bearing a list of officers and other ranks in pencil; a copy of Afrika-Post, 26 January 1943; B.O.A.C. ‘The Winged Order of Pond-Hoppers’ document named to ‘John Stack’; other newspaper cuttings; together with a quantity of photographs, both wartime and post-war.
