Thomas Jones came from Charlbury, Oxfordshire. As a Sapper in the Royal Engineers he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 11 May 1915. Research with the lot suggests that the M.M. was awarded for service in an attack on 12 October 1917, and the Bar for an action on 10 April 1918. Transferred to the Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 29 April 1919. With copied m.i.c., war diary and gazette extracts.
