An Officer’s 1803 Pattern Flank Company Sword, the 74 cm curved blade with 22 cm spear point is unmarked but with blue and gilt decoration (extending 34 cms) comprising a crowned GR cypher, trophies of arms, a standing light company officer with drawn sword and foliate scrolling, the guard of gilt brass incorporating the crowned GR cypher in the hand guard, wire bound fish skin grip and lion’s head and mane pommel and back strap, the leather scabbard lacking the top locket, retaining the centre and chape in gilt brass and of a decorative nature, the blade with stains and considerable rust patches, the gilt dirty but reasonably sound, the gilt mostly lacking on the scabbard chapes, otherwise reasonably good condition £500-700
