William Charles Boggis was born in Sudbury, Suffolk. A Groom by occupation, he attested for the Yorkshire Regiment at London on 13 November 1893, aged 20 years, 9 months. With the regiment he served in Gibraltar, January 1898-May 1899 and in South Africa, November 1899-September 1902. He was transferred to the Army Reserve in November 1902 and discharged on 12 November 1905. He served in Class ‘D’ Reserve, November 1905-November 1909. With copied service papers.
10373 Private William Boggis, 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, was killed in action on 15 June 1915. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial.
