These medals have not been subject to research. It is believed, but not proven, that, for one reason or another, they came into the possession of Lieutenant Dimmer, K.R.R.C. when he served with the West Africa Regiment from 1908-14. At the outbreak of the First World War Dimmer rejoined the K.R.R.C. and was awarded a V.C. and M.C. on the Western Front in 1914. The medals forming this lot recently surfaced in possession of his descendants.
