(42447 Pte., 11/Essex R.); British War and Victory Medals (48722 Pte., North’n R.); Defence Medal; French Croix de Guerre 1914-1918, mounted as worn, together with silvered presentation cup ‘Tptr. C. J. Clark, M.M., 343 Baty. 86 Bde. R.F.A.(T.F.) - Presented by OC 86 Bde for best turned out other ranks, Shorncliffe 9.9.21.’, 180 mm overall; a bronze Church Lads Brigade cross with bar ‘1915’; parchment certificate for gallantry; citation for Croix de Guerre signed by the C.O. 3/Essex Regiment; two postcard photographs of the recipient and various cap badges, nearly very fine (7)

Parchment certificate for ‘Gallant Conduct in the Field on May 28, 1918, near Dickebusch in serving your Lewis Gun and later acting as stretcher bearer whilst in action alongside the French.’ The Croix de Guerre was awarded for the same action and has a similar citation.
