Private W. Whitbread was killed in action in Palestine, 26 March, 1917. Private J. J. Whitbread died of wounds in Gallipoli, 16 August, 1915. Both brothers enlisted at West Ham and served with the 6th battalion in Gallipoli from 10 August, 1915, and are both entitled to 1914-15 Stars.
