Henry Hamilton Fyres Turner served in the South African War, operations in Cape Colony, south of Orange River, 1899-1900, including actions at Kheis 29 May. Operations in Cape Colony, north of the Orange River (Medal with clasp). Operations in Somaliland, East Africa 1903-04, including action at Jidballi (Mentioned in Despatches London Gazette 2 September, 1902.- Medal with 2 clasps).
Lieut-Colonel Turner served in France during the Great War and was killed in action on 1 December, 1917. He was buried in High Tree Cemetery, Montbrehain, France.
