Private Edward Moulds, East Yorkshire Regiment, entered the Egypt theatre of war on 28 December 1915. Later served with the 2nd Battalion Durham Light Infantry with which he was awarded the M.M. and Croix de Guerre. Later transferred to Class ‘Z’ Reserve. A note with the lot provides a citation for the M.M. - ‘On May 28th 1918 near Dickebush in rallying your men against a German counter-attack whilst in conjunction with the French.’ Similarly, a citation for the Croix de Guerre - ‘For bravery during a patrol in no mans land, he came across a group of French troops who had lost their way. He took command of the situation and brought back all concerned to safety.’ Also with copied m.i.c.
