An Officer’s 1796 Pattern Infantry Sword, the 81cm bright blade with superb blue and gilt decoration extending for 39 cm from the forte with single fuller, the decoration comprises the crown over ‘GR’ the Royal Arms of Great Britain pre 1801, a trophy of arms and other scrolling panels, standard pattern gilt hand guard with silver wire bound hand grip complete with very fine original gold and crimson sword knot contained in its gilt mounted leather scabbard, the reverse of the top chape engraved ‘Prosser Charing Cross London’, some of the gilt areas require light cleaning and the black leather scabbard with some surface loss £1200-1500
