Madras Artillery, an Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate c. 1840-55, an extremely fine example, the rectangular copper gilt back plate overlaid with crowned laurels these bearing the battle honours Corygaum, Seringapatam, Seetabuldee, Mahidpor and enclosing the royal arms and unit title, below the laurels an Elephant over a plinth Assaye, the honour Nagpoor, a Sphinx over a plinth Egypt, a cannon and a further plinth with honours Ava and Java, usual hook and stud fasteners, very good condition £800-1000
