Sabar, 13 F.F. Rif.); Pakistan Republic Day Medal 1956, unnamed; Medal of Military Service, 3rd Class, bronze and enamel, unnamed, very fine (8) £700-800

Recommendation reads: ‘Arakan 1944. On the 12 of March 1944 two platoons were attacking a strong enemy position on Boomarang (ref. 507478) L/Nk. Mohd. Sabar was the leading Section Comdr. and came under heavy fire. L/Nk. Mohd. Sabar crawled forward at the head of and led his section up to the enemy position. He himself threw hand grenades and fired with his T.M.C., killing four Japs. He then led his Section in a charge on to the position. His courage & leadership were outstanding.’
