Samuel Burchill was born in Clonmaenrise, King’s Co., Ireland. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 67th Regiment at Athlone on 8 January 1859, aged 18 years. With the 67th Regiment he served two years in China, three years in Burma and 4 years in the East Indies. Burchill was discharged at Bangalore on 31 March 1880. With copied discharge papers.
