Halliday, Justice, holding palm branch and scales, reaches out to a kneeling negress, her wrists chained, rev. legend in wreath entwined with the names of the great abolitionists, 41mm (BHM 1669). Of Haitian interest, as included in the names is that of [François-Dominique] Toussaint Louverture (1743-1803), leader of the Haitian revolution, the first successful revolution by a slave population in the Americas. The other names are Penn, Granville Sharp, Wilberforce, Benezet, and Stephen D. Barclay
