Second Lieutenant Henry Harold Hodges was educated at Ferbane School and Westmeath Independent School. He was killed in action in the Hulluch area on 13 July 1916, having previously been wounded on 29 April 1916. He is buried in Vermelles British Cemetery, France. The War Diary for 17 April 1916 mentions Hodges: ‘Our bombers under Second Lieutenant Hodges did particularly good work and drove the enemy out of the [Hulluch] crater.’
